St James, Jamaica – Detectives in St James, Jamaica, have reported that the police charged two men with Buggery-related charges and failed to report a child needing care and protection after witnessing them dragged into bushes and sexually assaulted.
The police charged Anthony Grant, o/c ‘Murderer,’ farmer age 20 of Plantation Heights, with Buggery. Also, the police charged Marlon Reid, age 18, of Plantation Heights, with failure to report a child needing care and protection.
According to the police, on February 21, 2023, two innocent 12-year-old girls were strolling along the Plantation Heights main road when two thugs-Grant and Reid, drove up on a motorcycle and struck up a conversation with the girls.
During the conversation, Grant allegedly grabbed one of the girls and pulled her into a nearby banana plantation while Reid restrained the other along the roadway.
Grant allegedly undressed the minor and sexually assaulted her. Then he reportedly threatened to kill her if she told anyone what had happened.
The parents reported the incident to the police, who took both men into custody during an operation on Friday, March 17, 2023, pending identification.
On Tuesday, March 21, the police charged Grant with Buggery after the witness pointed him out during an ID parade. In addition, the police charged Reid with failing to report a child needing care and protection on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
The police said the accused men were scheduled to appear before the court on April 5, 2023, to answer the charges laid against them.
