The police have arrested an office manager who allegedly stole J$2.5 million from her employer at a gas station in Spanish Town, St Cathrine, where she worked.
According to the police, they have charged 30-year-old Saah-Gaye Lee of a Portmore, St Cathrine address with larceny as a servant.
Spanish Town law enforcement offers said the business owner and complainant carried out an internal audit at his place of business. And he discovered that J$2,535,520 million was missing from his business account. And according to the complainant, the money was missing between November 2022 and February 2023.
According to the police, Lee admitted to taking the money.
She was later arrested and subsequently charged.
Her court date is being finalized.
Five dead after bikes and bus collide in Temple Hall, St Andrew.
St Andrew, Jamaica – Five men died on Sunday night after their motorcycles collided with a Toyota Hiace bus in Temple Hall, rural St Andrew.
Reports are that at about 9:45 pm, the men were traveling northwards on the Temple Hall main road when their bikes collided with the bus.
The injured men were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The St Andrew North police are investigating.
One dead and two injured in motor vehicle collision on Old Harbour Road
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— St Cathrine police had reported that one woman lost her life and two others were injured when a Nissan Tiida motor car collided with a truck on Old Harbour Road, St Catherine. The collision occurred near Jamaica Broilers at about 8:00 pm Sunder night, February 26, 2023.
According to a police preliminary report, the truck was en route to Spanish Town from Old Habour when a black Mercedes Benz overtook a line of traffic. This caused the driver of the Nissan, traveling in the opposite direction, to take evasive action. As a result, the driver of the Nissan lost control of the vehicle and collided with the truck.
The deceased and the injured were passengers in the Nissan Tiida.
The injured passengers are being treated at the hospital.
