A West Virginia lawmaker who participated in the January 6 riot at the Capitol has announced he is running for Congress in 2024. Only in America does a man who, in cahoots with others, attempts to overthrow his government now wants a seat in Congress.
Derrick Evans appeared before a Federal judge and pleaded guilty to a felony charge in the deadly Capitol riot. And he expressed remorse for letting his family and his community down. He admitted he had made a crucial mistake.
But, less than a year later, he is saying he was a victim of a politically motivated plot as he announced his intention to run for a seat in the US Congress. Which is the same building he, dressed in combat gear, and others stormed on January 6, 2021. He labeled his prosecution as a Miscarriage Of Justice.
But Derrick Evans forgot that many still photos and videos show him forcing his way into the Capitol.
