The police have reported that one of their colleagues was found dead inside his motor car, which was parked along the main road in Exchange, St Ann.
He is identified as Detective Sergeant Lloyd Kelly, who was attached to the Runaway Bay Police Station. He was living in Bonham Heights in Exchange, St Ann, at the time of his passing.

According to the police report, at about 8:40 p.m. Thursday night (January 5, 2023), a BMW motor car belonging to Kelly was seen parked along the roadway with its four-way emergency lights on. Upon inspection, Kelly was seen in the driver’s seat and appeared unresponsive.
The police were called to the scene. A medical team from Crooks Criticare performed CPR, but no signs of life were detected.
The medical team took Kelly to St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police confirmed that the cause of Lloyd Kelly’s death is unknown. But they did not suspect foul play. Nevertheless, the police took custody of Kelly’s licensed firearm.
The Detective Sergeant’s death has left his colleagues in St Ann and the Jamaica Constabulary Force in mourning.
