HANOVER, Jamaica – A teenager from Hanover has been charged by the police after he and others allegedly entered a couple’s home in Negril and fatally shot them as they slept on May 23, 2024.
The boy, whose name has been withheld by the authorities, is facing charges of two counts of murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
The deceased have been identified as Kevin Whitmore, 62, a fisherman, and his common-law wife, Althea Hunter, 49, from Nompriel Heights in Negril, Westmoreland.
According to the Savanna-la-Mar Police, the tragic incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. when the armed men kicked in the front door of Whitmore and Hunter’s home, awakening them from their sleep.
The men then men opened fire at the couple, inflicting multiple gunshot wounds before fleeing the scene.
Upon the police’s arrival, the couple was found suffering from gunshot wounds. They were swiftly transported to the hospital, where Whitmore was pronounced dead on arrival. Hunter was admitted but later succumbed to her injuries.
After an investigation, the authorities apprehended the teen during an operation on August 8, 2024. His court appearance date is pending.
Kingston Carpenter Michael Adams Charged with Usher Morgan’s Murder.
KINGSTON WESTERN, Jamaica–A suspect has been charged by law enforcement officers in connection with the fatal shooting of Usher Morgan on Tavares Crescent in Kingston in December 2023.
Investigators have identified the accused as Michael Adams, also known as ‘Blacks’ or ‘Irons’, aged 23, from East Road, Kingston 12.
According to the Denham Town Police, the incident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. on December 11, 2023, when Morgan, a former resident of Fourth Street in Kingston, was sitting along the roadway on Taveres Crescent. It is alleged that Adams approached and shot him multiple times. After the shooting, the police arrived at the scene and transported Morgan to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
An investigation was promptly launched, leading to the apprehension of Adams during a targeted operation. Later, in the presence of his attorney, Adams was formally charged after a question-and-answer session with detectives.
Adams’ court date is pending.

HANOVER, Jamaica—A tragic incident occurred near the Green Island Police Station on Friday, August 10, 2024, prompting the Hanover police to launch an investigation. The event, a motor vehicle accident, led to the untimely passing of a motorcyclist.
The individual who lost his life has been identified as 47-year-old Horace Campbell from the Cauldwell District in Hanover.
According to reports, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Campbell was riding a motorcycle along the Green Island main road when a collision took place with a motor truck traveling in the same direction near the police station.
After the collision, the motorcyclist fell onto the hard asphalted road surface, resulting in severe injuries.
The authorities arrived at the scene and swiftly transported Campbell to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
