The fifth inmate who had previously escaped from the Oracabessa police lock-up has been successfully recaptured.
ST MARY, Jamaica – The St Mary police have successfully recaptured another one of the seven inmates who escaped from the Oracabessa Police Station in St Mary last December. Phillip Williams, also known as ‘Boe’ of Belfield, St Mary, and charged with shooting with intent, was apprehended in a well-coordinated operation following valuable information from multiple sources.
Deputy Superintendent Kevin Francis, acting head of the St Mary police, confirmed Williams’ capture and highlighted the collaborative effort involving various channels, including the public, that led to his arrest. Williams becomes the fifth escapee to be brought back into custody, leaving two more at large.
DSP Francis urged the remaining two escapees, Nolando Aikenson of Pimento Walk, St Ann, and Gaveen Hurd of Stony Hill, St Andrew, and Enfield, St Mary, both charged with murder, to surrender themselves to the authorities without delay.
The victim was 27-year-old Shander Paul Williams of Rockingham Road, Kingston 2.

As per reports from the Central police, on Monday, March 11, 2024, at around 9:10 a.m., a verbal altercation between Lewis and Williams escalated into a physical confrontation.
Both men reportedly used knives, resulting in severe stab wounds to each other.
Law enforcement intervened and transported both men to the hospital. Sadly, Williams was pronounced dead, while Lewis was admitted for treatment under police guard.
After being released from the hospital, Lewis was charged with murder on Monday, March 25, 2024. His court appearance date is yet to be determined.
