Teen boy lost his life after resisting bike robber in Westmoreland.

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica–A 17-year-old boy was deprived of his young life after he resisted a man who attempted to steal his motorcycle early Wednesday morning along Lewis Street in Westmoreland.

The police identified the teen as Anthony James of Dexter Street in Savanna-la-Mar.

According to reporting, at about 12:10 am, James was standing along the roadway when a man approached him and demanded that he hand over his motorcycle.
James reportedly resisted the bike thief, and the attacker allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed him several times before escaping.

The police responded and rushed James to the hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.

The Westmoreland police are searching for the suspect.

St Elizabeth woman charged for allegedly breaking into shop and stealing cash

Detectives in St. Elizabeth arrested and charged a female suspect with housebreaking and larceny after she allegedly broke into a shop in the North Hampton community and stole money on November 5, 2023.

The authorities named the suspect Keniece Johnson, o/c ‘Kim,’ aged 22, a customer service representative of a North Hampton address in St. Elizabeth.

According to reports, after a shop owner locked and left his business establishment, he received a telephone call informing him that Johnson was inside the shop.

Upon returning to the premises, the complainant noticed that a window was open and signs that someone had entered the establishment through the back door.

He further inspected the premises and realized the money he had left in the shop was missing.

He reported the matter to the police. The police launched an investigation, which led to Johnson’s arrest on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

The authorities charged her after a question-and-answer session in the presence of her attorney.

The accused’s court appearance date is pending.

St Elizabeth police arrested two following a gun and ammo seizure.

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica—Police in St Elizabeth arrested two suspects after seizing a 9mm Glock pistol and two magazines containing 42 9mm cartridges during an operation along Holland Bamboo Main Road in St Elizabeth on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

According to the Black River police, at about 1:30 pm, a team of law enforcement officers were on patrol in the community when they signaled the driver of a Toyota Axio motorcar to stop.

The driver complied, and the police searched the driver, a female passenger, and the vehicle.

During the search of the vehicle, the police found the weapon hidden under a cupholder inside the car.

The police arrested the driver and the woman in connection with the gun and ammunition seizure. The authorities withheld their names pending further investigation.
