KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police reported that unknown assailants cut down a popular female street vendor at her stall in downtown Kingston on Monday morning, November 20, 2023.

The shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving residents in a state of disbelief and mourning. The vibrant streets of Kingston, known for their lively atmosphere and bustling markets, were plunged into a somber mood as news of the tragedy spread.
The authorities identified the deceased as Adrea Peterkin, popularly known as ‘Apple,’ residing on Nelson Street in Denham Town, Kingston.
According to reports, at around 11:20 AM, Peterkin was seated in a chair at her stall located on a section of Pink Lane in West Kingston when armed thugs pulled up on a motorcycle and shot her in the face as she leaned back in her chair.
Hospital authorities pronounced her dead upon arrival.
The thugs also shot and injured another woman.
The police did not establish a motive for the shooting. However, word on the streets indicates that ‘Apple’s failure to pay extortionists is why she met her demise.
The police are conducting an investigation.
Three men were shot, one fatally, in a Portmore gun attack.
PORTMORE, ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – According to the police, one man was fatally shot, and two others, including an entertainer, sustained injuries during an incident at a park in Greater Portmore, St Catherine, on Monday afternoon, November 20, 2023.
The deceased man was identified as 27-year-old Devonte Palmer, o/c ‘Messi,’ from Selbourne Road in Greendale, Spanish Town, and 7 West addresses, both in St Catherine.
The two injured men from 7 West have been admitted to the hospital.
According to reporting, at about 1:30 p.m., the three men were inside the community park smoking when a white Toyota Probox arrived.
It’s alleged that the gunmen, all armed, exited the vehicle and opened fire on Palmer and the other two men before escaping. All three men were shot in their upper bodies.
Residents took the men to the hospital, where Palmer was pronounced dead, and the other two were admitted. One is in serious but stable condition, while the other is critical.
The police have not established a motive for the attack.
