Noel Maitland returns to court for a bail hearing.
KINGSTON, Jamaica–When murder accused Noel Maitland returns to the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, his attorney is expected to make a bail application on his behalf.

Maitland, a police constable, is accused of killing his 24-year-old girlfriend, Donna-Lee Donaldson, a social media influencer, in July 2022. It is believed she met her demise at Maitland’s New Kingston apartment, but her body has not been found.
Maitland has been refused bail since he was arrested on July 27 last year in relation to Donaldson’s disappearance; he was charged with her murder five days later.
A bail application was made on Maitland’s behalf in October last year, but it was subsequently denied.
Donaldson was reportedly last seen with Maitland on July 11, 2022. She was reported missing two days later. The police have theorized that she was killed sometime between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on July 12.
Investigators believe that Maitland acted alone in the killing of Donaldson but theorize that he may have received help to dispose of the body. The cop, who doubled as a music producer, has maintained his innocence.
