SPANISH TOWN, ST CATHERINE, Jamaica–The woman who was with the escapee murder suspect, Kenneth Stewart, when the police recaptured him pleaded guilty to harboring a fugitive in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
The 32-year-old recaptured escapee pleaded guilty as well to uttering forged documents.
The court remanded Denhesia Bogle and Kenneth Stewart, both from Spanish Town addresses, until sentencing on December 5, 2023.
Also, the presiding judge, Janelle Nelson-Gayle, requested a social inquiry report on each of them.
In a targeted operation on October 10, 2023, the police went to Beacon Hill in St Catherine and found escapee Kenneth Stewart at a house occupied by Bogle Bogle. The two share a child.
The authorities said Stewart tried to evade the police by presenting a birth certificate bearing the name ‘Mark Harris.’
The police arrested and later charged them without incident.
Stewart was among eight men who escaped the Black River police station lockup in St Elizabeth on June 19, 2023.
Stewart will appear in the St Elizabeth Parish Court in the future, for that matter.
Waiter shot dead in St James
MOUNT SALEM, ST JAMES, Jamaica**— Law enforcement officers in St James responded to a shooting scene on Crawford Street in Mount Salem, St James, Tuesday morning, November 07, 2023, where a waiter was shot dead by unknown assailants.
The authorities named the deceased as Sanjay Rankine, age 34, a waiter from Crawford Street.
According to reports, at about 9:45 p.m., residents in the Crawford Street community heard loud explosions and summoned the police.
The officers reportedly found the lifeless body of the deceased lying on its right side with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and upper body.
The police recovered eleven 9mm spent casings at the scene.
The police have not established a motive for the murder. The investigation is ongoing.
