JUNCTION, St Elizabeth, Jamaica — Just one month after an older boy allegedly beat a 14-year-old schoolboy at BB Coke High School, law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into an alleged case of sexual assault of a 14-year-old schoolgirl by an older student at the School.
According to reporting, a senior school official has confirmed that the police are investigating an alleged sexual assault matter.
“I am aware; however, the matter is under investigation, so I can’t comment on it,” the source said.
According to a published story in reputable news media, a grade nine schoolgirl was reportedly sexually assaulted in a bathroom on the school compound sometime on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, allegedly by a grade 11 boy.
There were reportedly concerns about how the police and health officials treated the matter.
On Thursday, October 26, 2023, head of the St Elizabeth Police Superintendent Coleridge Minto confirmed that the police are investigating the incident.
“I am aware. The matter is still under investigation. I do not have all the facts to comment now,” he said.
St James, Jamaica–A man, the St James Police, listed on Wanted Wednesday as a person of interest, has been captured by the police Quick Response Team.
The authorities said the suspect was wanted for murder and other serious crimes. He was apprehended during an operation by the Quick Response Team on Friday, October 27, 2023.
Following the suspect’s capture, the police posted a welcome home message on their social media page.
“Welcome home, Mr Pusey,” the post read.
