Law enforcement officers in Clarendon have launched an investigation into the death of a farmer allegedly chopped to death on Monday, October 16, 2023, by his mentally ill brother.
Police identified the deceased as George Jones, age 43, a late farmer and resident of Jonnies Hill District in Chapleton, Clarendon.
According to the authorities, at about 6:30 p.m., on Monday, October 16, 2023, both men were at home in the Johnnies Hill community when a verbal altercation that turned physical started.
During the mele, the alleged mentally ill sibling used a machete and inflicted several chop wounds to the victim’s head and upper body.
The Police also reported that on the Morning of October 17, 2023, the suspect confided in a neighbor that he had killed his brother and needed help to dig a hole to bury the body.
The neighbor summoned the Police. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found Jones’ body lying face down in a pool of blood in the backyard next to a chicken coop.
Hospital officials pronounced him dead on arrival.
The victim’s brother is reportedly on the run.

Police identified the deceased man as JoWayne Witter, o/c ‘Iron’, age 24, a late laborer and resident of Tryall district, Junction in St Elizabeth.
The police report stated that at about 3:00 p.m., Witter and a man were at a bar along the ‘Down Country’ main road in Tryall when a heated argument developed between them.
The man reportedly left the bar and lay in waiting outside for Witter.
As soon as Witter left the bar, the man attacked him with a metal object, hitting him several times in the head before escaping on foot in the community.
A good samaritan took Witter to the hospital, where he died.
Two Arrested Following Gun Seizure in Dunkirk
The Police arrested two men following the seizure of a gun and 16 rounds of ammunition during a raid at a premises in the violence-prone community of Dunkirk/McIntyre Village, in East Kingston.
The community has been under a curfew since Saturday, October 14, 2023, following a drive-by shooting that claimed the lives of four people.
The sudden uptick in violence in the community results from a gang feud between rival thugs from Bray Street and a section known as ‘One-Ten.’
Commander for the Eastern Kingston police division, Superintendent Tomielee Chambers, said the Police are maintaining a strong presence in the community to blunt any further escalation of violence.
Superintendent Chambers says Monday’s incident in Dunkirk was a reprisal for Friday’s killing of Jermaine Strachan, o/c ‘Popeye’, the late alleged Don of One-ten.

According to unconfirmed reporting, at about 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, thugs in Greenwich Town, Kingston, shot and killed one man and injured three others.
The incident reportedly occurred near a security checkpoint.
