According to words on the streets, early Saturday morning, September 23, 2023, thugs shot and killed the brother of a prominent Dancehall entertainer who goes by the name ‘Joshii’ in the Grants Pen Road community.

Unconfirmed sources said the man was at his home in the community when a group of men invaded the space. Sources in the area reported hearing loud explosions minutes later and summoned the police.

Upon arrival, the police found the victim’s dead body.

Spanish teacher killed in two-vehicle collision in St. Elizabeth.

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – A St. Elizabeth teacher recently hired to teach at the Savanna-la-Mar Primary School in Westmoreland died from injuries she sustained in a two-vehicle collision along the Font Hill Main Road, in St. Elizabeth Friday morning, September 22, 2023. 

The police identified the deceased as Danielle Blake, age 31, from Sandy Ground in St. Elizabeth.

Meghan Berry, principal of the Savanna-la-Mar Primary, said Blake was a Spanish teacher and had only joined the institution at the start of the new school year earlier this month.

“She just started teaching with us…,” a distraught Berry told the media.

According to reporting, at about 11:30 am, a Mitsubishi L200, traveling towards Black River, swerved to avoid a pothole and collided with the taxi cab in which Blake was a passenger.

Eight people got injured in the accident, But Blake and the cab driver were seriously injured. 

Hospital authorities pronounced Blake dead on arrival and admitted the other victims for treatment.
