Yesterday morning, September 6, 2023, Jamaica’s security forces shot and killed one of the suspects in Waterloo, Spanish Town, triple murder, in a confrontation during a targeted raid in the community.
The police identified the deceased as ‘Gaza’ or ‘Gaza Man,’ one of the suspects in the Waterloo triple murder.
The victims of the triple murder were Omar Wellington, age 43, Saron Francis-Wellington, age 34, and Orlando Wellington, age 16.
The police had released a list of seven men they believed were connected to the Waterloo triple murder and requested that they turn themselves over to the police.
They are Demar Williams – otherwise called ‘KyeKye,’ and Othniel Loban – also called ‘Tickman,’ three men only known by their aliases ‘Buffy,’ ‘Richie,’ and Gaza’ or ‘Gaza man’ (deceased) and two men, said to be overseas, called Blacks and Negus.
According to reporting, at about 4 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2023, The security forces conducted a targeted operation in search of suspects in the Waterloo community. The police accosted the suspect, who goes by the alias ‘Gaza,’ inside a house.
Gaza reportedly opened fire at the police, and they shot and killed him.
The police said they recovered a .380 pistol from the deceased man. Also, the police found a .357 magnum pistol in the house.
The Independent Commission of Investigations has launched a probe into the matter.
