Thugs gunned down retired soldier and stole his licensed firearm in Old Harbor.

KINGSTON, Jamaica – According to reporting, thugs ambushed and gunned down a retired soldier Friday Morning, August 18, 2023, as he entered his home. 

Police identified the deceased as Clifford Edwards, age 59, a retired soldier of an Old Harbour Glades, St Catherine address.

According to preliminary reports, unknown assailants who were waiting gunned down Edwards at about 12:45 am as he entered his home.

The killers stole his licensed firearm–a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol.

The police have launched an investigation into the shooting.

Out of control thugs shot and injured two men in broad daylight.

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Out-of-control thugs shot and injured two men in broad daylight in the Strathbogie community, Westmoreland, Friday Morning.

According to reporting, at about 9 am, Friday, August 18, 2023, both victims were inside the yard; one of the men resided when a white Toyota Axio motor car pulled inside the yard.

The police said two men alighted from the car and opened gunfire at the victims. The shooters fled the scene in the waiting car. 

The police later assisted the victims to the hospital, where the authorities admitted them in stable condition.

The police found three .45 and fourteen 9mm spent casings at the scene.

The police did theorize a motive for the attack.

Police charged alleged burglar caught wearing the complainant’s clothes.

The police charged a St Catherine male suspect with Housebreaking after the complainant caught him wearing clothes he allegedly stole from their apartment.

The police charged Kenguo Fanti, age 24, of Featherbed Lane, Spanish Town, St Catherine, with Housebreaking and larceny.

According to reporting, on Friday, August 11, 2023, the complainant locked and secured his apartment on Central Avenue in St Andrew and left.

Upon his return, he noticed that somebody had broken into his apartment and stolen several clothing items, a wristwatch, and an iPhone.

He alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police discovered that the thief had pried open a window to gain access.

Later that day, the complainant reportedly saw the suspect wearing pants and a shirt he identified as stolen from his apartment.

The complainant summoned the police, and law enforcement officers accosted Fanti. According to the police, they searched a black pouch Fanti was carrying and found the wristwatch and the iPhone belonging to the complainant.

The police subsequently charged the suspect. His court date is pending.
