The head of man wanted by Manchester police found in shopping bag.

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The head of a man who the Manchester Police listed as wanted for rape, burglary, assault at common law, and unlawful wounding was found in a shopping bag at Whitney Turn near the Manchester/ Clarendon border on Thursday morning, July 6, 2023.

A senior police source identified the head as that of Rohan “Black Seed” Barrett, a resident of Porus in Manchester.

According to preliminary reports, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at about 6:30 am, an unknown resident discovered Barrett’s head in a shopping bag at a fruit stall along the Whitney Turn main road near the intersection with Mount Pleasant Road.

Heyward McLean, the fruit stall owner, thinks the assailant left the severed head at the fruit stall because he wants somebody to find it quickly.

“When I got the call, I came down here and saw the police draw long yellow tape and said I cannot open the shop until they finish as it is a crime scene,” McLean told OBSERVER ONLINE as he described the deceased as a “troublemaker.”

“The head was in a brown shopping bag similar to the ones you carry to the supermarket. They carry it come put down in front of the stall for somebody to see it.”
