Police conducted an operation on Hellshire Road in pursuit of robbers.

On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, law enforcement officers attached to the St. Catherine South Police Division conducted an operation on the Hellshire Main Road, St. Catherine, in pursuit of suspects who allegedly abducted a couple Tuesday night, June 6, 2023, in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine.

According to the police, thugs abducted the victims from their homes and brought them to Kingston, where the thugs forced them to withdraw about $100,000 from more than one ATM.

The thugs would have taken the couple back to Hellshire, killing the man and dumping his body along the roadway.

The police said the thugs did not harm the woman. 

The police tracked the vehicle carrying the gunmen and engaged the men in a shootout along the Hellshire main road.

The car carrying the gunmen headed towards Fort Clarence Beach, where it eventually crashed. 

The police found one of the suspects suffering from bullet wounds.

The police took the wounded man to hospital, where he later died.

The other suspects escaped into the bushes. 

Portmore resident shot dead while delivering furniture in his community.

On Tuesday afternoon, June 6, 2023, 36-year-old Oshane McLean, a Portmore, St Catherine resident, was shot and killed while delivering furniture in his community. 

The Greater Portmore Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) has launched a probe into the daring murder.

According to police reports, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at about noon, McLean had delivered furniture at a residence in the Portmore Park community when a grey motorcar pulled up alongside his vehicle. 

A lone thug alighted the vehicle and opened fire, hitting McLean in the upper body.

Citizens summoned law enforcement officers to the scene. Upon arrival, the officers assisted Mclean to the hospital, where he died.

The Portmore police are investigating the shooting.

Two vehicle collisions along Rosend Main in St Mary left one dead and two injured. 

ST MARY, Jamaica: On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, a two-vehicle collision along the Rosend main road in St Mary left one person dead and two others injured and admitted to the hospital.

The police identified the deceased as Leroy Jones, of an unknown address.

Traveling in a westerly direction, Jones parked his Honda Stepwagon along the Rosend Main Road. And while he and a passenger were conversing, a Honda Civic motor car traveling in the opposite direction collided with the rear of the parked vehicle. Jones, his passenger, and the driver of the Honda suffered injuries.

The police assisted the injured persons to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where Jones died, and the authorities admitted the other two persons for treatment.

Law enforcement officers attached to the Annotto Bay police station are investigating. 

The police believed speeding excessive speeding led to the accident.
