According to investigators, Friday’s attack on a public passenger along Spanish Town Road, where gunmen opened fire and injured seven people, resulted from a gang conflict in Seaview Gardens.
One of the victims, a 13-year-old student, is in critical condition.
According to reports, at about 2:30 pm, Friday, April 21, 2023, the passenger bus had stopped to pick up passengers at the intersection of Spanish Town Road and Seaview Gardens when two armed thugs opened fire at a man they pursued, who attempted to use the bus as a shield.
According to the police, three children were shot in the attack, one of which is in serious condition.
They said passengers were entering the bus when two men on the outside fired several shots, indiscriminately, at persons inside the bus.

The company announced Friday night, April 21, 2023, at the Magnum All-Star Sound Clash at Olympic Way.
The marketing manager for J Wray and Nephew, Kamal Powell, said the signing was a no-brainer. J Wray and Nephew manufacture and distributes Magnum.
“We wanted to add a younger and more energetic person to our lineup of brand ambassadors. I think Laa Lee has creativity, youth, and dynamism. He works hard to perfect his craft. He has also shown that he is moving in a particular trajectory, and we want to be there with him through his growth,” Powell disclosed to OBSERVER ONLINE.
He continued, “We must look out for the next generation of dancehall artists. It has been great working with him thus far, and we are looking forward to bigger things with him.”

Laa Lee, whose birth name is Romario Ricketts, became a household name in 2018 with his first hit single ‘Whatz on Sale’. He is a product of the ghetto known as Jungle in West Kingston.
He followed up his first hit with a string of hits such as ‘Tip Inna It,’ ‘Dirt Bounce,’ ‘Bong Bing,’ ‘Bird,’ and ‘Floating.’
Laa Lee joins Dancehall artists Spice and Ding Dong, also Magnum brand ambassadors.
