NEGRIL, Westmoreland – According to a preliminary report, one of three people who got shot at a wedding hosted at a hotel in a Negril resort on Saturday, March 25, 2023, is reportedly dead.
Details surrounding the incident are unclear, but according to reports, the police identified the deceased person as 31-year-old Rushema Senior from Riverside District, Hanover. The deceased is related to one of the persons who were getting married.
According to local sources, at about 6:00 pm, two men aboard a motorcycle drove onto a side lane between the hotel hosting the wedding and another well-known resort. Upon reaching a section of the lane where the men could see the guests attending the wedding, one of the shooters reportedly opened fire at the guests through a fence, hitting the woman and two cameramen.
It is understood that overseas guests at a nearby hotel who were outside dining were left traumatized and scampering for cover.
The police are carrying out investigations.
