The police have reported that unknown assailants fatally shot a taxi operator in his motor vehicle along Washington Boulevard, St Andrew, on Thursday afternoon, March 16, 2023.

Details of the shooting are not yet available. However, bystanders heard multiple loud explosions, after which they saw three men running from behind the car.

The police have cordoned off the crime scene, which caused a significant backup in the traffic along Washington Boulevard.

14-y-old boy charged with rape of 10-y-o girl in St Thomas.

The St Thomas police reported that detectives have arrested and charged A 14-year-old boy with rape following a sexual encounter with a 10-year-old girl on Sunday, March 5, 2023. 

According to the police, the 10-year-old was at the teen’s house when he allegedly held her down and sexually assaulted her.

The girl managed to escape, ran home, and reported the incident.

The police subsequently arrested and charged the teen following an interview.

A court date is pending.

Trelawny man charged with shooting death of 2-year-old baby Adrean

TRELAWNY, Jamaica— Trelawny detectives have charged the man who allegedly shot and killed 2-year-old Adrean Jerome Campbell in Clarks Town, Trelawny, on Sunday night, March 12, 2023.

The police identified the accused as Anthony Findley, o/c ‘Boy Blue’ and ‘Buddy Man,’ of a Clarks Town address in Trelawny.

According to the police, at about 8:00 pm, Sunday, March 12, 2023, they responded to a shooting in Mack Hill District. Upon arrival, they found baby Adrean suffering from a gunshot wound.

The child was rushed to the Falmouth General Hospital, where he died.

According to reports, Findley and a male cousin had an altercation. Findley left the scene, returned with a gun, and opened fire at his cousin sitting in a Honda motor car with baby Adrian. The bullet missed the cousin and hit Adrean.

Findley fled the scene, but the police would nab in a stop and search. His court date is pending.
