After Tuesday’s not guilty verdict for Klansman gangster Carl Beech, on Wednesday afternoon, March 1, 2023, Chief Justice Bryan Sykes declared co-accused Roel Taylor, one of the remaining 26 accused in the ongoing Klansman gang trial, guilty on two counts.

Taylor, a relative of reputed Clansman-One Don Gang leader Andre ‘Blackman’ Bryan, had insisted that he was a furniture maker and not a gangster. Nevertheless, The police charged him with illegally possessing a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
According to the evidence, the police found an Ak-47 rifle and ten 7.62 millimeter rounds at Taylor’s shop on Jones Avenue in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
A senior policeman had testified that they found the illegal weapon hidden in a stack of boards at a furniture shop when a police team went to arrest Bryan’s cousin.
On seeing the weapon, the inspector said to Taylor, “Wah dat ah do deh suh?”
The police have charged a St James man wanted for an October 2022 murder in Norwood.
The St James police have charged 21-year-old Kirky Lawson with the October 2022 murder of Devato Barnett, o/c “Biggs, in Norwood, St James.
According to reports, at about 7:15 pm one October evening in 2022, residents of Norwood heard explosions and summoned the police. Upon arrival, the police found Devato suffering from gunshot wounds and rushed him to the hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police launched an investigation that deemed Lawson as the lone suspect. And an arrest warrant was issued for his capture. On Saturday, February 19, 2023, the police were involved in a confrontation during which Lawson was shot.
He was taken to the hospital under police guard. The warrant was executed on February 26, 2022.
