The Police High Command has condemned the Brutal killing of District Constable Mark Forsythe.
On Monday, DC Forsythe was shot dead in York District, St. Thomas.
The 37-year-old policeman had been working out of the Trinityville Police Station in St. Thomas.
The police report stated that at about 3:40 Monday afternoon, February 13, 2023, citizens of York District informed DC Forsythe that strange men were in the community. Forsythe reportedly summoned assistance from colleagues while he responded. He was unarmed.
Upon approaching, one of the men pulled out and shot and attacked DC Forsythe multiple times.
It was reported further that the gunmen opened fire on residents who attempted to help the injured officer.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Chaplaincy and Welfare department is available to support the fallen officer’s family, colleagues, and friends.
In the meantime, the police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in bringing the murderers to justice to contact the Major Investigations Division at 876- 758-5048, the police 119 emergency number, or Crime Stop at 311.
