A woman who checked into a popular hotel in Montego Bay with a companion on Sunday, January 22, 2023, to celebrate her birthday ended up falling over a balcony to her death.
The police have ruled out foul play.
“She was not pushed because there was no one behind her. However, she seemed woozy, and as she moved closer to the balcony, she fell over. We called for an ambulance, and she was transferred to the hospital,” said a source at the hotel.

She was 25-year-old Sony Hewitt, a call center clerk. Reports are Sony Hewitt checked into a popular hotel on Saturday, January 21, 2023, to have a good time on her birthday. But hours after celebrating her birthday, she fell from a hotel balcony. Video footage from the hotel shows Sony alone on the balcony before she fell at about 5:45 am Monday morning, January 23, 2023. She was taken to Cornwall Riginal, where she died. The police ruled Sonny’s demise as death by misadventure.
