The Jamaica Constable Force reported via its Facebook page that it has charged Rushawn Patterson with the murder of Aneka Townsend, also known as Slickina, on Social media. Patterson was gazetted as a person of interest in the case.

The police stated that on Thursday, October 20, Townsend traveled from Kingston to Montego Bay. While in Montego Bay, Patterson picked her up at approximately 7:30 pm. After browsing around Montego Bay, they journeyed to a restaurant in Hanover. After leaving the restaurant, they traveled to a guest house in St James. And at some time during the night, an altercation developed between Townsend and Patterson, in which Patterson strangled Townsend, then disposed of her body.

Also, the police stated that they had charged a 47-year-old security guard, Rohan Rose, who is also called ‘Early B’ with Misprision of a Felony (failure to report a felony).
The police stated that during the three week-long probe into Slikiana’s death, the Hanover and St James police conducted a top-level investigation aided by diligent support from the Area 1 Operational Support team. And the Communication Forensic and Cybercrime Division (CFCD) and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). In addition, the police Technical Services Division (TSD), the Specialised Operations Branch, the JDF, and Jamaica Eye also lend their tireless support. It was a total team effort.
And on November 2, 2021, Rushawn Patterson was arrested during a high-level, intelligence-driven operation. He was later charged for an outstanding unrelated Assault case which he is alleged to have committed in the Saint Andrew South police Division in 2018. That matter will be brought before the Kingston and St. Andrew parish court.
