Jamaican Man Arrested For Voter Fraud In Florida

State election police in Florida, USA, have arrested and charged a Jamaican man with voter fraud. The accused, Alford Samuels, is reported to live illegally in the United States. And as such, he does not have legal rights to participate in voting.

According to the state’s Election Crime Unit, Samuels voted in Broward County in two special elections this year. In 2021, he registered to vote using the alias ‘Alford Nelson.’ However, law enforcement believes he used a counterfeit birth certificate from New York City.

Investigators say Samuels goes by at least seven different aliases. And have done time in prison for 11 felonies, including possession of cocaine, selling, and purchasing drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, resisting arrest with violence, and trafficking cocaine.

If convicted, Samuels could up to face five years in Federal prison and a US$5,000 fine for the two counts of voter fraud if convicted.

Samuels was arrested on Wednesday, October 19,2022. And he is now a resident in the Broward County Jail.
He was first admitted into the United States in 1977.
