The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) said the song received the Brit Certified Platinum Award for sales and streaming exceeding 600,000 units in the UK, as measured by The Official Charts Company. Toast was first released in November 2018. And it was featured on the artist's Rapture EP in 2019. The EP won the 2020 Grammy for best Reggae album. In addition, Toast is Koffee's first song to be certified Platinum in the UK. However, the single Rapture and her collab with rapper J Hus titled Repeat are certified Silver in the UK. for sales and streaming of more than 200,000 copies. Toast was also her first song to have attained the Silver milestone. This happened in January 2019 before reaching Gold in the UK after selling in excess of 400,000 units in January 2021. The song was certified Gold in Canada in August 2019 after exceeding 40,000 units in sales. Toast peaked at No. 70 and spent 17 weeks on the UK Singles chart. Additionally, it peaked at No. 37 on the Billboard Mainstream R$B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. It spent three weeks on the chart. Toast also appeared on former president of the USA Barrack Obama's curated playlist twice. Other Koffee songs appearing on the list are Don't Walk Away with John Legend and Repeat collab with J Hus. The music video for Toast exceeded 218 million views on YouTube. And the single garnered over 144 million plays on Spotify.
