Tiger Woods Arrested after Rollover Car Crash

Tiger Woods arrested. Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a rollover car crash. The incident occurred in Florida on Friday, according to the Martin County Sheriff.

The crash reportedly occurred some time after 2:00 p.m. ET on Jupiter Island, where Woods resides.

Woods who was alone in the car during the accident, did not cause any injuries. He managed to crawl out of his vehicle after it tipped over onto its side.

According to Sherrif John Budensiek, DUI investigators arrived on the scene and, Woods allegedly displayed signs of impairment. As a result, they placed him under arrest and took him to the Martin County Jail.

Sherrif Budensiek stated that authorities believed Woods was allegedly under the influence of a medication or drug. This was despite him blowing a 0.00 on a breathalyzer test.

Woods has been recovering from several injuries sustained in a car crash in Southern California in 2021. The 50-year-old golfer has undergone multiple surgeries due to the accident.

Last October, he had surgery to replace a disc in his back.

After the 2021 crash, Vicodin, Dilaudid, Xanax, Ambien, and THC were allegedly found in Woods’ system. He later went to rehab for treatment of drug abuse.

On Tuesday, Woods made his season debut at TGL Golf, the professional indoor golf league he founded alongside Rory McIlroy.

It’s unclear whether Woods will play at the upcoming Masters Tournament, which begins on April 9 at Augusta National.

The five-time Masters Champion shared his wish to play after his TGL appearance.

“I’ve been trying,” Woods said. “This body just doesn’t recover like it did when I was 24 or 25. I want to play. I love the tournament. I have loved being there since I was 19. I’m going to be there either way.”

Nonetheless, President Donald Trump poured cold water on that during a phone appearance on Fox News on Thursday.

“I love Tiger,” he said. “He will be there, but he won’t be playing in it.”

On Friday, after reports of the crash, Trump referred to Woods as a “very close friend.” He expressed his concern, saying, “I feel so badly. He’s going through some difficulties. There was an accident, and that’s all I know. He’s an amazing person and an amazing man, but he is facing some challenges.”
