On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, police in Montego Bay arrested a murder suspect after he allegedly stabbed and killed a man on Claude Clarke Avenue in Montego Bay, St James. The police captured the suspect as he reportedly attempted to flee the murder scene.
According to reporting, at about 6:30 pm, residents allegedly witnessed the suspect stabbing 43-year-old Lincoln Green during a confrontation and summoned the police.
A team of law enforcement officers responded quickly and apprehended the suspect as he was fleeing the murder scene.
The police withheld the suspect’s identity pending further investigations.
The police found the deceased, Lincoln Green, a late bar manager, on his veranda in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
The police said medical officials pronounced Green dead at the hospital.
Hunts Bay police charged a 26-year-old man with murder in Kingston.
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Hunts Bay police formally charged a murder suspect following the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another, along Spanish Town Road, in June.
The police charged Javorie Mcleish, age 26, a resident of a Spanish Town Road address in Kingston, with
murder, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.
The police identified the deceased as Trevor ‘Pedrothe’ Williams, age 48, a welder of the community.
According to the Hunts Bay police, at about 5:00 pm, on the day in question, Williams and another man were at the location when McLeish alighted from a Nissan motor car and opened gunfire, hitting both men.
The police responded to the crime scene and rushed the victims to the hospital, where the medical pronounced Williams dead and admitted the other man for treatment.
The police opened an investigation, leading them to arrest McLeish during an operation. The police subsequently charged McLeish on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, following a question-and-answer session.
His court appearance date is pending.
Two women were reportedly shot on Windward Road Thursday afternoon.
According to reporting, two female bartenders were reportedly shot and injured Thursday afternoon along Winward Road in Kingston.
Two women have been rushed to hospital in serious condition after a gun attack on Windward Road in St. Andrew.
According to news reports, the women were unresponsive when the police arrived. One of the women got shot in the head.
Both bartenders reportedly work at the Tempo Cozy Corner Bar near Windward Road and Mountain View Avenue.
It was unclear what led to the shooting.
Thursday’s shooting brought back memories of last week’s deadly attack along Rusden Road in Rockfort. Seven people were shot, three fatally, when unknown assailants opened fire on patrons at a party.
The area has been tense since then.
