Police from the Fraud Squad team reported that they had charged another employee at the Sagicor bank with fraud. According to the police report, Fraud Squad detectives arrested and charged 26-year-old Tishan Samuels of St Andrew with fraud on Thursday, February 9, 2023. The bank employed her as a Client Care Officer.

The law enforcement officers slapped Samuels with offenses of Larceny as a Servant, Conspiracy to Defraud, and Access with the Intent to Commit or Facilitate the Commission of an Offence.
According to the police, Samuels allegedly conspired with other persons between July and August of 2022 to defraud the bank of over JM$65 million.
She was offered bail with surety in JM $1 million.
Samuels is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Criminal Court on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
In recent months two other bank employees, Tricia Moulton and her sister Alysia Moulton-Whyte were also charged with fraud committed at the bank. As a result, the bank fired both sisters.
Dozens of Registrar General’s Department workers call out sick.
According to preliminary reports, dozens of disgruntled workers at the Registrar General’s Department (RGD) offices islandwide called out “sick” on Monday, February 13, 2023. As a result, the operations at the government institution are severely affected.
Unconfirmed reports stated that the Registrar employees, like many other Government employees, are concerned about public sector compensation review.
Public sector workers such as police officers, nurses, doctors, and teachers have been at loggerheads with the Government over salaries for many moons. And so far, the Government refuses to budge
A man whom the police named as a person of interest relating to murder was killed in Manchester
The Manchester police are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the murder of a man in the Old England community in the parish on Monday morning, February 13, 2023.
The deceased is 37-year-old farmer Aldo Scott, otherwise called ‘Shortman’ and ‘Chuckum,’ of a May Day district address.
According to reports, at approximately 1:15 a.m., residents heard explosions and alerted the police.
Upon arrival, the police found Scott lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Manchester police say Scott was a person of interest concerning a murder in the Porus district last December and had information that could help law enforcement officers with investigations.
