Misery does love company. Rapper Jeffery Williams o/c Young, facing multiple charges under the RICO law, finds himself in more hot water. On Thursday, January 20, 2023, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office released a video showing a hand-to-hand exchange between Grammy-winning artist Young Thug and his co-defendant, Kahlieff Adams.

Prosecutors believed it was a drug transaction. So they made a motion to the court alleging that Young Thug and Adams had “conducted a hand-to-hand drug transaction” during the court hearing.

The motion, also included a request for clarification of the record. It alleged that Adams got up from his chair, walked unattended to Young Thug, and handed him one Percocet pill. The judge would later allow the surveillance video to be shared. It showed Adams getting up and walking to Thug and giving something to him. Then, in a split second, a deputy approaches Thug, who handed over what he had in his hand.

The video needs to be clearer to see what Adams handed Young Thug. However, Young Thug’s attorney says his client has done nothing wrong. And he was not expecting to receive anything from Adams. Plus, he cooperated with authorities immediately.

“The reality is Mr. Williams had nothing to do with what went on in the courtroom yesterday,” Keith Adams, an attorney for Young Thug, said.

The attorney continued, “One of the co-defendants, on his way to the restroom, attempted to pass something to Mr. Williams, who immediately turned it over to the deputy. He did not know what it was. We didn’t know what it was, did not know what it was, and turned it over to the deputy immediately. The deputies took action,” the attorney said.

Reports are, Adams had Percocet, marijuana, tobacco, and other contraband on his person. Deputies found the contraband wrapped in plastic with food seasonings apparently to mask the odor of the marijuana.”

The bizarre incident caused undue delay in the jury selection. Ural Glanville addressed the court, mentioned the incident, and explained why jury selection was delayed. He then suspended the court session for the rest of the day.

And this would be the third incident that deputies have caught defendants with contraband within a week. Last week, deputies found marijuana in one defendant’s shoes. And in another incident, rapper Yak Gotti was caught with tobacco and rolling papers on his person. Deputies arrested his mother because she was the one who brought the clothes.
