“We Found Love just hit 1 Billion streams on Spotify 12 years later !! Still can’t believe what this song did! Cheers @rihanna,” he wrote on Twitter.
The song had already hit billion view status on YouTube. On Rihanna’s official VEVO account, it has one billion views, while on Calvin Harris’ account, it has 2.6 billion views.
“We found Love” was released in 2011. And the song was written and produced by Calvin Harris. Harris is a Scottish DJ. “We Found Love” is described as an electro-house song. It has elements of dance-pop, techno, and Euro-pop. The song became an instant global success. It topped charts across the world.
It raced to No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 for ten non-consecutive weeks. And became the longest-running number-one single of 2011. It beat another Rihanna song, “Umbrella,” for the same record.
